On a personal note...

Welcome!

My name is Jennifer I have been practicing in the field of social work for twenty years, which honestly is crazy to think about. I am a licensed clinical social worker and trained in perinatal mental health and EMDR.  Since becoming a mom I have found a passion for helping other moms lean into their authentic voice. The voice that was often quieted in our childhood to meet the needs of others. When we become moms we start the journey to be on a constant quest to reinvent ourselves and at the same time not lose ourselves. No pressure there!

I have recently joined the club I have been wanting to avoid, the sandwich generation club. I have a mom with Alzheimers so, that means I am on this  journey without her wisdom and guidance. It can be a lonely experience and one many don't talk about. I have two young children ages 8 and 5 and a partner with a non traditional schedule. All of these factors have made me dig deep and continue to heal in order to be my authentic self for  my children, partner and the beautiful women I connect with. I have had to learn my own blind spots and patterns and many that are still hidden. This journey never ends once you decide to start it  It is not easy AND it is so worth it to do the work. It is always a balance knowing when to do the work and knowing when to just live We cannot be a fixer upper all the time, right?!

I am a relational therapist and believe deeply in the process of connection to heal. Our connection and feeling of safety matters more than the skills.  In a matter of moments we can talk about face products shoes and hormones and shift into childhood trauma and subjects most people don't want to touch. I like to keep the therapy space real and non threatening. Some of my own interests: cooking, enjoying the outdoors, walking, morning coffee in a silent house, traveling, purging toys, having a clean kitchen, connecting with friends, moving my body, walks with a podcast or book and doing this work! I look forward to connecting and seeing how I can best support you.
