If you are seeking therapy, I think it is safe to assume there are things in your life that are not serving you anymore. The women I work with have a desire to live a fuller life and often don't recognize how the day-to-day behaviors have actually been serving as protection. We will look at the " symptoms" as strategies for survival.

I practice from an attachment lens and believe we all have ruptures in our early foundational relationships. What does this even mean? It means our first relationships in life created a blueprint for how we connect with each other, and ourselves and manage stress. These ruptures vary from person to person based on lived experience. I am a trauma therapist, trained in EMDR and Perinatal Mental Health, who also draws from other modalities such as ACT, CBT, DBT,  Mindfulness, Person-Centered and psychodynamic therapy.

Common experiences that show up for the women I work with:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Intimacy issues

  • Sexual Issues

  • Rage

  • Anger

  • Disconnection from self and others

  • People pleasing

  • Overthinking

  • Boundary setting

  • Parenting after childhood trauma

  • Grief and complicated relationships with parents

  • Dissociation

  • Body image and relationship with food

  • Addiction

It is important to normalize the therapy process for you and help you understand what you may experience outside of the session.

I have found extended sessions to be where the magic happens. These can be weekly or bi-monthly. This allows time to be in the present moment, "stretch", and even take breaks if needed. Life happens, diapers need changed or busy months can disrupt the flow. This is something we can evaluate during your consultation and always modify in our work together.
